Organic Yoinashi Asian pear

YoinashiTM is a very popular new variety of Asian Pear. It has buff colored russet skin with tender, sweet off-white flesh. The fruits are large and have excellent flavor.

Shinko is also a very popular variety. The fruit is medium to large and has golden brown russeted skin. The flesh is creamy white and has a great juicy, sweet flavor.

Although they first appeared in US markets in the 1980's, Asian Pears are the oldest cultivated pears in the world, dating back to 1100 BC in Japan, China and Korea. Despite their recent introduction, Asian Pears are already a great favorite of western consumers, and their popularity is sure to continue to grow. Asian Pears are picked ripe and ready to eat and should be kept refrigerated to maintain their distinctively crisp, crunchy texture.
