In August 2007 we installed a 25 kW solar power (photovoltaic) system on the roof of our Washington office. The system consists of 130 Sanyo HIP 195 solar panels and four SunnyBoy 6000 inverters, and is expected to supply approximately 70% of our annual electricity needs.
Fire Mountain Solar, the company who designed and installed our grid-tied system, calculated the net reduction in grid energy usage is equivalent to saving 53,156 pounds (24 metric tons) of CO2 emissions per year.
Our solar array is the largest in Skagit County, and the second largest in the territory served by Puget Sound Energy, our utility company.
